When you think of St Lucia you usually think of the lakes, a sea of stressed out students and abnormally aggressive ibises. But did you know that it’s also home to a delightful Italian trattoria? Neither did we.
Saint Lucy’s is skipping the intro class and giving an advanced course in deliciousness. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday, this joint is dishing out some seriously irresistible Italian.
The menu is delectable enough to keep you satisfied all day long. For breakfast we can’t go past the vanilla waffles with honeycomb, espresso syrup, shaved chocolate, ice cream and violets (washed down with a Bloody Mary of course, it is a campus-based restaurant). At lunchtime, we think it’s a good idea to indulge in a gamberetti wood-fired pizza with tomato, prawns zucchini, fior di latte and parsley. If you’re a student, this will prep your mind for some serious studying (or an afternoon library nap, either way). And at dinner time, the seafood risotto with salmon, squid, prawn, parsley and lemon is PhD worthy.
Whether you’re a student looking for an excuse to skip your 1pm tutorial, or a lover of Italian cuisine wanting high quality food and uni student prices, Saint Lucy’s Trattoria is sure to satisfy.
