Unless you’ve managed to win the lottery (sharing is caring!), the start of the work week doesn’t usually make the best of us leap with joy.. until now. If you’re seeking something to pep up your week, bid adieu to your standard salad dinner and warmly welcome an evening of fine dining.
Exquisite local treasure, The Lab Bar & Restaurant, is renowned for its award-winning cuisine. Situated in the stunning Treasury Heritage Hotel, The Lab opens its doors seven days a week to satisfy any breakfast and dinner desire. Clearly, not all heroes wear capes.
Locally sourced produce and premium ingredients are used to craft a modern Australian menu to write home about – including a new midweek dinner special that is set to make your palate sing.
Available during 6-10pm from Monday to Thursday, you’ll be able to experience excellence with The Lab’s midweek dinner menu. For just $60 per person, an unsurpassable three course set menu will be yours for the taking. Gourmet without the price tag? We’re listening.
Entrées include the likes of wild mushroom risotto with wattle seed, walnuts and chive mascarpone, as well as confit duck croquettes with parsnip, snow pea tendrils, radish and riberry jus.
Tuck into mains including Bendale Farm organic chicken breast with prosciutto, leek, asparagus and cognac mustard jus, or pork cutlet with sweet potato, broccolini and apple jus (and make sure you pair it up with a glass of fabulous local vino!).
Bring it home with innovative desserts such as green tea mousse with blood orange gel, peach and champagne sorbet and orange sherbet, as well as white chocolate cheesecake with raspberry gel, meringue and maple pecan ice-cream.
And with the menu changing every month, November welcomes twice cooked pork belly, salmon sashimi, smoked duck breast and a baked chocolate tart with honeycomb and salted caramel ice cream. We’ll be making an advance reservation for that one!
Add in a glass or two of vino from one of our fine city’s best wine lists, and you’ve got yourself a Monday to remember.
So, come up to The Lab, and see what’s on the slab. We see you shiver, with antici… pation.

Keeping the G&G up to date with all the latest tasty tidbits requires a lot of double lattes and espresso martinis, so we occasionally need to give out some sponsored love. But rest assured that we only work with businesses that we think are really nifty, as the sponsor for this post is!
