Ditch the share plates and the communal cutlery box and get ready to get a little fancy. Taking over the space that previously belonged to Merthyr Road’s Foraging Quail, Allium is all about a fine dining experience with a contemporary menu that won’t leave you feeling out of place.
If anybody knows about a la carte dining it’s head chef and owner James Gallagher, who spent five years cooking up a storm at Alchemy. For Allium he’s mixed up indulgent flavour combinations, like lightly-cured kingfish with cucumber, buttermilk and green apple; sorbet chicken liver parfait with passionfruit; and New England lamb loin with pea, mint and Persian feta. And if you can’t decide, there’s always the tasting menu!
Stop in for an Allium dinner Wednesdays to Sundays from 6pm, or join the crew for Sunday lunch from 12-2.30pm.
