Tucked into a row of shops underneath the Story Bridge, this funky spot isn’t somewhere to bring your best table manners – things will get messy in their dining room, which is kitted out in hanging lightbulbs, exposed brick and bright street art murals.
The menu has a little something for everyone, including seafood, ribs and burgers, with an emphasis on fresh produce done exceptionally well. Donned with a paper bib, a set of gloves and a set of tools fit for a surgeon, expect to blissfully slurp, crack and crunch your way through some home grown Australian seafood like crabs, mussels and prawns. Don’t forget to use your complimentary baguette to mop up every last drop – it would be rude not to!
There are also plenty of traditional sides with a gastronomical twist to choose from, like cabbage and apple slaw, parmesan truffle fries, onion rings and grilled corn on the cob. Carnivores needn’t fear – for the fish-phobic, there’s also a satisfying selection of BBQ ribs, burgers and steaks. And just when you thought your food baby was at full term, then there’s dessert. American brownie or key lime pie? Sweet mercy!
