With two locations and no sign of the poke bowl trend going away anytime soon SUKI is set to open its latest store in Newstead’s super trendy Gasworks Plaza. With more options that you can poke a stick at, make like a sushi burrito and roll in.
Newstead is getting all the love this week, with Loaded Food Co opening another venue in the inner-north. Bar by night, bespoke-style café by day, this chameleon is one to watch.
We’re still mourning the loss of Alfredo’s Pizza, but at least we can wipe away our tears with the news that Midnight Dining Club is debuting at Alf’s Place on September 14th. The space will transform into a late-night dining heaven weekends.
La Marcelleria Gelateria, Tenerife’s favourite gelato shop is coming to West End this month – no official dates of yet, but we’ll keep you in the scoop!
Dominique Rizzo is bringing steampunk to Banyo with the opening of his new wine bar, Clapham Junction. With a Mediterranean menu and coffee in the morning, we’re steam pumped to check it out!
Les Bubbles and Retros Cocktail Lounge are making the pilgrimage down south with both venues opening Gold Coast locations later in the year. Make Brisbane proud! Zi Espresso is also set to open in Southport in October with a health-focused menu and specialty coffee.
So often forgotten, our friends in Toowoomba and Ipswich are getting some love too, with Harajuku Gyoza opening in Toowoomba, and Coffee Andra opening in Ipswich, offering up coffee, seasonal cakes and tarts.

Get ready to say Olà to the Brazilian Day Festival! Flamenco your way to Brooklyn Standard on September 23rd, with live bands, food and outdoor bars to keep you dancing all night long.
It wouldn’t be Oktoberfest without a visit to the Bavarian Bier Café, with six weeks of Oktoberfest Feasting menus and four official Oktoberfest biers October 16th, as well as the inaugural Oktoberfest street parade. Pig out at the Pork Knuckle Eating competition and drag out your dirndl for the costume competition.
