Loosen up your belts, Wynnum’s Seafood Festival is officially coming back for another year! We’ve been holding our breaths after last year’s event and can’t wait to add this to our calendars for Saturday October 7. The crowd favourite prawn peeling competition is coming back – and this year we’re in it to win it.
The one-day festival includes live music, cooking demonstrations, panel discussions and much more, and it’s free to attend! Events from last year like the mud crab race will be back, and there will be even more of a foodie focus this year with a fresh seafood market, gourmet food tasting area, and a wine and oyster bar (you know where to find us!)
This is a festival for the whole family, taking place against at George Clayton Park on the Wynnum Manly Esplanade – one of the most stunning views of the ocean in all of Brisbane. Eat and drink to your heart’s content (and your waistband’s limits) in open green spaces, making the most of the fresh ocean air – think of it as a mini holiday! Taking place from 9am-5pm it’s set to be a whole day of fun for seafood fans.
Last year’s crowds were huge – around 15,000 people! – so the festival organisers have set up a new site that is bigger and better than ever. Bring the whole crew, it’s gonna be a big day out! After all, it’s set right on Moreton Bay, home of the delicious Moreton Bay Bug. Let’s be honest here, we’re on a seafood diet – we see food, we eat it!
The 2017 Wynnum Seafood Festival takes place on Saturday, 7 October 2017 from 9am to 5pm on the Lower Esplanade of the Wynnum Manly foreshore in George Clayton Park. For more information check out the festival’s website and follow them on social media @wynnumseafoodfestival.
