This week is all about celebrating flavour – and whether you can’t get enough of seasonal produce, breakfast gnocchi, Aperol Spritz or just a really good beer, you’re going to want to make some room in your calendar for these tasty happenings.
Pony Dining | CBD
Brisbane’s beloved fine dining show-pony is reigning in a new menu and new Head Chef! Under the culinary stylings of acclaimed Head Chef Michael Crosbie, Pony has crafted a new signature menu with modern and clever flavour combinations. We’re talking seared Angus rump with black garlic, roasted lettuce and horseradish, as well as honey parfait with mead, bee pollen, chamomile and toasted hay and milk ice cream. Yay or neigh? We say yay.
Billykart | West End
How did we even survive before Deliveroo? Billykart West End is hopping on board the food delivery train and will be rolling out a grand final special of roast chicken for four people to celebrate your right to delicious takeaway. Add to kart for sure.
La Marcelleria | West End
Brace yourself West End – Brisbane’s best gelato aka La Marcelleria Gelateria is opening on September 20. Stop it, you’re making us melt!
Todd & Pup | Moorooka
Breakfast gnocchi? Earl grey lavender waffles? Mate – you’re not dreaming, you’re hearing word of Todd & Pups new seasonal menu, and it. is. EXCELLENT! You’ll be kicking yourself if you don’t try it.
Vieille Branche | Albion
Magnifique warehouse cafe Vieille Branche has launched its spring menu – and we’ve got our sights set on the decadent french toast, dressed with seasonal fruit poeles, thyme and drizzled with honey glaze.
Bucci | Fortitude Valley
If you want to do Tuscany on a budget, the foolproof solution is to visit Bucci. Bucci has launched a new lunch menu full of Italian goodness such as crostini toscani, ribollita and Tuscan rice cake. Your nonna would approve.
Miss Kay’s | Michelton
This little miss is turning 1! To celebrate their birthday, Miss Kay’s Michelton is hosting a day of live music, exclusive menu items and of course, burgers and beer. You’ll also be able to try your hand at the ultimate Big Kay’s Challenge – we’re talking five beef patties and five slice of cheese in one burger, two servings of dirty fries, and 15 minutes to eat it all. May the odds be ever in your flavour.
Gauge | South Brisbane
X marks the spot, and Gauge X is the spot to be for an experimental monthly dinner series. Launching on September 20, Gauge is going full Masterchef and challenging five chefs to each create a course that will be served on the night. Make sure you go and taste the epic creations!
Customs House | CBD
Sunset Spritz is back!! If you love sipping Aperol Spritz and nibbling on glorious Italian inspired bites by the river, this is the event for you. Of course there will be plenty of other aperitivo favourites being poured left right and centre – making it the perfect spring pop up bar! Launching on September 21, you’ll be able to jump right into the spring fling of the year.
Beer InCider | Bowen Hills
Brews, beats and food – bliss! On September 22 and 23, you’ll be able to wind down with a choice of over 300 bevvies from 53 different breweries and cideries, as you get down with nine bands including Ball Park Music. To stay relatively sensible, there will be 15 food trucks on site to keep you well fed. Get thirsty for this event.
