From Morningside to Munich, Brisbane is being graced with a world of flavours this week. Whether you’re into hidden bars, dodgem cars or pina coladas – your ideal playground is sure to be on this list.
The Cloakroom | CBD
Don your dapper getup and look beyond what you see – Brisbane’s renowned go-to for male threads is now sporting a secret bar. Hidden away behind the CBD store, you’ll find your gate to bespoke cocktails, champagne and wine at The Cloakroom Bar. What a dream.
Osbourne Hotel | Fortitude Valley
The former Fringe and Kerbside space has been transformed into the Osbourne Hotel. This iconic venue is looking hella contemporary, with a beer garden that’s in full bloom. We’re talking a vaulted glass roof, enough fiddle leaf figs to make a minimalist blogger cry, and a very lux urban fit out. Now that’s how you put the hot in hotel.
Lick! Ice Cream | Morningside
We all scream for Lick! Ice Cream, and here’s the latest scoop – a new store is set to open in Morningside this November! The successful OG Graceville store has been a hit for the past two years, banging out flavours such as Snickers and warm apple crumble. Folks on the other side of the bridge, get excited for your soon-to-be local.
Melt Brothers | Garden City
It’s all too easy being cheesy with Melt Brothers. These toasted sandwich extraordinaires believe that everything from mac ‘n cheese to potato gems belong wedged between your bread, and if they’re wrong, we don’t wanna be right. Launching at Garden City on October 14, the bros will be offering customers 50% off all grilled cheese sandwiches – woah boy, get bready.
Butcher Baker Coffeemaker | Woody Point
Because who doesn’t love a new waterside café? Focused on sustainable dining, the team behind Butcher Baker Coffeemaker will be dishing up the likes of breakfast bowls, Belgian waffles and a damn good cup of coffee. Lock down your next brunch date here!
Doughnut Time | Browns Plains
Living away from delicious dessert venues is enough to drive anyone glazy. Thankfully, Doughnut Time has extended its roots to the burbs of Browns Plains (yes, yes, yes!). Well, they do say we should eat more hole foods.
Miss Kay’s | Various
Guten Tag fellow Oktoberfest lovers! Miss Kay’s is paying tribute to the sausage fest of the year with new German inspired burger, The Hoff. This bad boy includes bratwurst, sauerkraut, cheese, pickles, mustard and mayo. How good!?
Happy Boy | Fortitude Valley
The Valley’s newest addition is gonna make for some very happy boys and girls (sorry, we had to). Happy Boy is a fusion eatery that puts a Chinese twist on Australian classics, with a new brunch menu that’s set to blow your mind. Think breakfast bao and mapo haloumi. (Spring) roll on down for a bite!
Nightjar | Burleigh Heads
In need of a classic nightcap? Nightjar it is. The new sister venue to Soho Place and Hideaway is bringing back your beloved basics, specialising in cocktail favourites such as long island iced teas and pina coladas. Grab your brojito and head in for a mojito!
Oktoberfest | Bowen Hills
Prost! Oktoberfest’s final weekend kicks off this Friday at Brisbane’s RNA Showgrounds. You’re in for a laugh and a Lager, a squeal worthy petting zoo, and all the pork knuckle and bratwurst you can handle. Don your dirndl or lederhosen and get ready for the ultimate German playground.
The Regatta Hotel | Toowong
Not a fan of the Oktoberfest crowds? Say hallo to The Regatta’s own German Festival! From October 13 to 15, their loading zone will be transformed into an authentic German Beer Hall. From beer to pretzels to bratwurst burgers, you’ll be glad you came.
Sazerac | CBD
30 levels up in the CBD, you’ll find Sazerac. The city’s highest bar has aptly won a high ranking honour, taking out the win for ‘Best Boutique Bar’ at the QHA Awards for Excellence 2017. Raise a toast to the bar of the hour with their caramel popcorn martini (yeah, they deserved that award).
