Whether you’re a sustainability warrior, an animal activist, a greenie at heart or just wanting to try something entirely different, Brisbane’s latest vegan restaurant is out to prove that cruelty-free doesn’t have to mean taste-free!
Yavanna is run by a collective of passionate plant-based foodies who are showcasing a menu that even the most stubborn of us om-nom-omnivores will find hard to overlook.
Unlike many other vegan restaurants, Yavanna doesn’t focus solely on salads – instead, they offer high-quality alternatives to meat using similar sauces to what would be expected of their carnivorous cousins.
The result? Bourbon BBQ ribs, flame-grilled chicken, burgers, burritos, omelettes and steak with mash, with a meat-like texture that will leave you wondering how on earth they managed to make plant-based taste this good!
They also offer an impressive cocktail list (Moonshine espresso martini anyone?) and if you’re up to try a vegan ham and cheese croissant, then drop by for breakfast as well!
Stay tuned because they will soon also be offering vegan pizzas, and with toppings like three cheese, BBQ chicken and the impressively spicy Mount Doom, this will be one place you’ll be keen to get a pizza of.
Located at 2 Latrobe Tce, Paddington, Yavanna is open for breakfast 7:30 to 10:30, lunch 11 to 3 and dinner from 6 to 9:30pm.
